Hello Jack,

There is a new way of uploading photos in a group along with a trip report.
Go to the flow tab of the river page you want to add photos to, such as Etowah 2.
Click on the "New Report" button at the bottom of the page.
Fill out the date, level, as much description as you wish, a title, and any other info that makes sense to you.
Then upload as many photos as you want for that river. You still have to upload them one at a time, but much of the info is copied to each photo.
All of your photos from a particular trip are then grouped together by the report.

Both sections of the Etowah could use photos that give a sense of the river character. Photos of the access points and interesting landmarks are also helpful. If you do post photos, send a note to the stream team person so they can use a photo for the title page and for rapids descriptions.

If you write a description of the Etowah 2 section, you can post it as a comment, or send it to the stream team editor and ask that person to add it to the reach description.

Okay, I was able to upload photos via the My Account -> Manage Photos -> Upload Photos route. What didn't work, was for a river with no photos, such as this one: Etowah 2

The "upload photos" link does not work properly. It pops up a form, but, at least when I tried it on the 7th, you fill out the form, click upload, and nothing happens. Only thing I see different, is that it doesn't ask for the watershed info (first screen on "Manage Photos" route), but I'd assume it would derive that info from the fact that I clicked upload photos on that particular watershed page...

Anyway, since I can upload photos (Etowah 4), and I want to keep my rivers open, I'm signing up as a paying member!

Jack,

All registered users can post their photos to the site.

We encourage you to join American Whitewater, not simply for the website, but mostly because of the advocacy that the organization engages in on behalf of whitewater recreation across the country. Rare is the ww boater who hasn't paddled a stream that owes its legal access and/or recreational water releases to the efforts of AW's staff and volunteers.

But non-members can post photos, too.

You're referring to
Eau Claire (Wisconsin R. trib) [WI]
A) Spring Brook Bridge (Nolan Rd) to Hwy.52,
right?

The Wisconsin Rivers Page now shows it at 0.82 ft (L1), so that seems to have been fixed or worked itself out.

Warning: there are plenty of streams for which we haven't yet got the full range of Running, High, and Low put into the database yet. It's best not to simply go by the R, L, or H designation; if you're interested in running it, click through and look at the gauge to see what's really going on.

Re. your comments: yeah, I don't know why some of that info didn't come through. If you let me know which comments should be deleted (River, Section, Comment Date and Time), I should be able to get rid of them. Just email the info to matt at americanwhitewater dot org.

I put in a flow gauge reading for some photos and videos I uploaded. Now the state river page does not show the present level and color codes the river as H9 (which it is not at the time, nor the level I indicated). Why does it not refresh back to the present flow recorded by the gauge as seen on the individual river page?
This is in reference to Wisconsin-Eau CLaire (wis r. trib) 1

New user, so sorry if these problems have been mentioned before.

1- I uploaded some photos without adding a description. Now I want to add that description. When I click edit, it just takes me to a help page.

2- When you go to a state page, then scroll way down and select a river, then click "back" on your browser, it takes you to the top of the state page. It should take you back to wherever you scrolled to.

3- Whoever edits the VA page, could you add Wolf Creek at Narrows? It's in the Corbett guide.

Thanks!

Jim,

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing.

However, looking more closely, I see that, for each gauge, one reading is in ft and the other in cfs (stage & flow).

An exception is the muy importante Fish gauge, which only reads in stage (ft), and therefore only shows up once on my AW home page.

If you have the Fish in Your Gauges, I bet you'll see the same thing.

Please comment on what is and what isn't working for you.

The issues that I'm aware of are at now are:

- some general stability problems, the server might go up and down as we address priority fixes.

- caching issues (clear your browser cache and reload the website) clear cache instructions

- DNS issues - we switched servers therefore some ISPs don't have the new server address. For people that don't have the new server address, we are forwarding your requests to the new server from the old server. There's some translation problems with the solution and sometimes you may see errors related to that. These issues should clear up tomorrow.

- related to the DNS issues are secure server issues for people that are reaching our server from the old address. These should clear up tomorrow as well.

- our credit card processor is denying transactions from the new server, so join, donate, and the store won't work until we get this fixed.

thanks for bearing with us,
