Rockcastle Saturday

A couple of us are headed to the Rockcastle early Saturday morning for the day. Figured we would get in a couple of laps. Plus, the trail up to the Bee Rock overlook is great and the view from up there is well worth the hike. Warning, Bruce is threatening to nude hike to the overlook. Plus plus: there's another trail that looks like it is begging for a mountain bike to get on it. All in all, a day filled with whatever you'd like. My new camera just got in today so I'm looking to try that baby out (not on Bruce) and Bee Rock offers a bazillion opportunities.

What about a big ol' friggin picnic (hide the beer/bourbon). Allen? Fred? Mike? Brandon and gang? Mel? Will (if not headed for NC)? Anybody??? I don't mean to exclude anybody as all are welcome and encouraged to spend the day at one exceptional park.

If you are not headed for the Cheoah/Nanty Cascades, RFG, UG you are most welcome to join us.

Mike,

It would be a pleasure. So what if one does not boat, the scenery is unmatched. The Pulaski County side of the campground offers some of the best views of the boulders you can imagine. There is more to do than just boating.

Matt, come on. I'll give you specific directions. It will be great if we can get a good sized group down there.

By the way...............Bee Rock and the Rockcastle is 20 miles from McDonalds. I was serious about pot lucking a picnic lunch.

Keep your eyes opened for Emily's paddle, Werner bent shaft, list there last weekend. Would be the best river-karma ever if someone found it.

SWEET!!

How's 'bout leaving Lexington at 8. It is around 90 miles to Bee Rock (according to which route you take). I prefer to go to Somerset and make a left ( KY 192 East takes you straight to the park.)

Bethany?? Kris?? Tim Miller??

If I haven't mentioned your name please don't think you are excluded. You are not. In fact, I'd love to see this as one of the biggest gatherings to date. Please get out of the house and let's go play.

Leave Lexington at 8. Get there around 10. Smell each other for awhile and be headed down the hill to the putin by 11.

I'll bring hotdogs and buns. Let's have a feast.
