Changes to pollution control standards

Fred alerted me to this from the Kentucky Waterways Alliance:

The Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) has proposed changes to the pollution control standards for the Ohio River. These standards set the legal limits for anyone discharging pollutants into the Ohio River.

Unlike the revisions proposed back in 2006, we believe these changes are all worth supporting. They are mostly routine updates based on US EPA recommendations. For example, one proposed change will help drinking water utilities along the river to provide better treatment and cleaner water for the public.

Kentucky Waterways Alliance has a sample comment letter posted on our website. Please take a moment send in your comments! Print and sign our letter, or use our comments as a template for your own letter.
ORSANCO will accept written comments postmarked through this Friday, July 24th.
