Boone Creek Question

Today I came across an interesting creek near the Garrard Co. / Boyle Co. line. All the maps I look at tell me this is Boone Creek. Anyways does anyone know anything about this creek? Perhaps this is all there is on the stream, but it looks like it could be a fun run in the winter / spring provided it has enough water. Park and play for sure!

Attached are photos taken from the bridge that crosses Boone Creek on Paper Mill Road. Also, I've added a map that pinpoints the location.

[mapshare.delorme.com]

Directions: Starting in Lancaster, KY head towards Danville on Hwy. 52; Turn onto Paper Mill Road (Right hand turn). If you come to the bridge that crosses Dix River you passed it up. Stay on Paper Mill Rd. until you cross Boone Creek.

Any info would be appreciated.

It's actually called Boones Creek.

It's been run at least a few times, as I've talked to the owner of the property upstream and on the river right of the bridge. He said he's seen several groups paddling it. He was very nice and invited us to park off of his driveway.

What you see from the bridge is what you get. It's flat upstream of the bridge and most of the gradient is right in the area of the bridge. The bridge is less than half a mile from the Dix river.

What's there looks like fun & I'd love to catch it. I've seen it with water in it, but didn't have the opportunity to run it.

It has a pretty small drainage, so catching it with water in it may be a challenge.

Griffin and I ran it once, years ago. It was fun! and very short, but we were living in Danville. Plus, we were obsessed with kayaking and nothing was too far away or too short for us at the time. Have fun.
