GLEN ROSE, TX A Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden drowned on the Paluxy River near Glen Rose this morning (05-30) during a search-and-rescue operation while searching for a 16-y/o Erath Co. girl who has been missing since Tue (05-29). Game warden Ty Patterson, 28, died after his boat capsized in raging floodwaters about 8 a.m. this morning. Danny Tuggle, 58, a game warden for 25 yr., was rescued after falling into the water and was flown to Harris Methodist Hosp. in Ft. Worth. Tuggle was listed in good condition and was being held for observation, said Dept. of Public Safety trooper Dub Gillum. Tuggle is based in Granbury.

The two wardens were searching for Courtney Butler, who was swimming in Paluxy with a group of teenagers. She was reported missing about 5:30 p.m. Tue. The water runs across a cement roadway and makes a little waterfall. It was running very swiftly. Apparently, she became trapped in the current under the waterfall. Rescue teams are still combing the river for the teenager. Patterson was a graduate of the 51st Texas Game Warden Academy in 2005 and had been stationed in Johnson County.
