The Natrona County Coroner's Office has identified the man whose body was recovered from the North Platte River in Casper on Monday. David Andrew Brewer, 46, disappeared on June 26, after eyewitnesses reported that he was thrown from a tube while floating near the Casper Whitewater Park. Authorities said he was last seen grasping for a cooler that was later found on a small island. The Casper Fire Department led a search for the man for the next several days, combing the water by boat every morning and afternoon. Brewer's body was found the next week tangled in debris near M and Center streets, approximately two river miles from where he was last spotted alive. Officials from the coroner's office confirmed that the cause of death was drowning. Brewer's family has been notified. Autopsy and toxicology reports are pending.
