On August 13, 2004, Kevin Wade, 42, was canoeing with a friend on the Allegheny River, near the Dotty's Eddy area in Scrubgrass, PA. Wade had just removed his PFD when the canoe encountered rapids. Their boat flipped. Wade's friend made it to shore; Wade was identified by the county coroner the following day.
