| Summary: | On June 17, 2004, 43-year-old Mark Loverdi ran his jet-ski over the 50-foot-high Brasfield Dam at the spillway where "Lake" Chesdin empties into the Appomattox River. His body was recovered hours later, around midnight. He was found to have died of blunt-force trauma. |
| Conclusions: | Mr. Loverdi was from New York, visiting friends in the Richmond area. It is not known why he went over the dam, which was clearly marked with buoys. |
