| Summary: | On July 11, 2004, Kenneth Mark Schmidt was kayaking with two friends on the Guadalupe River near Comfort, Texas. When they encountered a low-head dam, they scouted and decided to run it. The first ran it successfully; Schmidt flipped quickly and was sucked under, presumably by the dam's backwash. His body was recovered the following day. |
