2007 Changes to Green and Yampa Permits

There are two changes that will occur with the permit process for 2007 on the Green and Yampa rivers in Dinosaur National Monument.

High use trips available after the lottery drawing will be filled beginning March 1, 2007. NEW FOR 2007: To streamline the river permitting process and create an equitable opportunity to acquire desirable May and June launches, all open river trips will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning March 1, 2007 only on a call-in basis to the river office. Written postcards and in-person applications will not be accepted. Only one trip may be acquired per phone call.

Under the FEE INSTRUCTIONS:

NEW INFORMATION FOR 2007: All fees are non-refundable and will be forfeited if your trip is canceled less then 14 days from the launch date. You may transfer your permit fee one time, to another 2007 launch in your name if a launch date is available. You must make the request more than 14 days from the launch date on a call-in first-come first-served basis.

The new regulations and lottery applications will be available on the NPS website beginning November 1.

If you have any questions regarding the changed to the permit process you may contact the river office at DINO_river_office@nps.gov.
