The first boating access for the controlled release on Piru Creek in Southern California will be this year beginning September 10th and lasting almost two months. Flows will be 250 cfs, which is a low moderate level. There will be escorted access given on weekends for boaters to put in below the dam and take out at the park in the town of Piru. We expect that boaters will park down at Waring public park and UWCD will load boats and gear up on a trailer and transport them to the put in just below the dam. Exact times of the escort should be posted on the United Water website soon and will be mirrored here. There will eventually be a listserve on their site to notify the public of the release and access conditions.
