The 31st Annual Upper Yough Race, sponsored by Wilderness Voyageurs, will be held on Saturday July 23rd.  This is the oldest extreme whitewater race in the country! Race profits are donated to American Whitewater, so come on out and paddle hard!. A long race release from 11 am to 5 pm allows plenty of time to run the river before the race or stop part way down and watch.

The race fee is $30; it includes a t-shirt and beer at the post-race party at the store. Start time is 5:00 at Gap Falls All boats are welcome; race classes will be determined by the number of entrants. All Upper Yough race profits are donated to Amertican Whitewater, so come on out and paddle hard!

Please remember: this is a very busy day in a very small town! Let's show our respect appreciation for Friendsville residents by behaving respectfully when parking and changing clothes. Lasty, let's avoid of residential areas on Water Street and Morris Street. Do not  park upstream of the Maple Street Bridge unless you are an invited guest of a local resident and park on their property.
