As many folks know, Gauley Fest is American Whitewater’s biggest fundraising event. As such, we’re very proud to announce another excellent Gauley Fest for the record books.

First, a huge thanks goes out to Subaru for being Gauley Fest’s title sponsor. Subaru has a long history in the whitewater community as a favored shuttle rig. We’re glad they’ve chosen to support American Whitewater’s river stewardship goals through their partnership with Gauley Fest. Thanks Subaru!

We’d also like to thank the many companies that support American Whitewater and Gauley Fest through their partnerships. Thanks also to the Nicholas County Veteran’s Memorial Park for being the home for the event, the Summersville Police Department for their contributions to keeping the event safe and the town of Summersville, WV for being all our hosts.

It may come as a surprise to many people to learn that Gauley Fest’s is put on with a nearly all volunteer team. American Whitewater has a paid staff of just 8 full-time employees. We’re joined each September by about 150 volunteers that help us put on this incredible event. All these awesome folks are lead by Volunteer Coordinator, Natalie Price of Hood River, OR. If it weren’t for the incredible efforts by Natalie and all these incredible volunteers, we simply couldn't put on Gauley Fest. We’re sincerely humbled by your support, thank you!

If you couldn’t make it to the big GF, check out a few photos we’ve posted on our Facebook page. Thanks to Scott Martin for taking these photos and donating them to us.

Finally, remember that Gauley Fest will always happen on the third weekend of September (which may or may not be the third release weekend on the Gauley River). So go mark September 14-16, 2012 as the dates for the next Gauley Fest. We hope to see you there!
