Action Alert: Help protect the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook (CT)

Connecticut boaters have a great opportunity to protect the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook. One of the best tools for protecting our rivers from harmful dams and diversions is the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. American Whitewater is working with our partners in Connecticut to designate sections of these rivers as Wild and Scenic, including the Tariffville Gorge.

We need paddler's voices to make this a reality. Please join us in supporting efforts to enact federal legislation that will permanently protect these rivers for future generations.

How can you help?

If you live in Congressional Districts 2, 3, or 4, contact Congressmen Courtney (CT-2), DeLauro(CT-3), or Himes (CT-4) and urge them to support the reintroduction of legislation to protect the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook. Be sure to let them know why these rivers are important to you and that you would like to see the entire Connecticut delegation united in their support.

Representative Joe Courtney (D-02)  202-225-2076
Representative Rosa L. DeLauro (D-03)  202-225-3661
Representative Jim Himes (D-04)  202-225-5541
