American Whitewater YouTube Contest

Over the years American Whitewater has improved many of our nations rivers and we want to know which one is your favorite. Starting February 1st American Whitewater is hosting a contest through YouTube to showcase your favorite American Whitewater project past or present. All you have to do is make a short video about the river and upload it to YouTube. The winning video will be seen by thousands when it opens a future episode of Lunch Video Magazine and is shown at the 08 Gauley River Festival. Check out the video announcement on the right!

Contest Details

  • All entries must be received by June 15, 2008
  • Voting will take place from 7/1 - 8/31
  • Winning video will be shown at the Gauley River Festival

  • All videos must feature a river or rivers that American Whitewater has influenced. A partial list of AW projects past and present is here.
  • All videos must showcase river use in a positive manner and display safe practice in whitewater paddling (proper equipment, safety, etc)
  • All videos should briefly highlight the stewardship work of American Whitewater
  • Videos should be under 5 minutes in length
  • All videos must be uploaded to YouTube and an email link must be sent to ben@americanwhitewater.org to be included in the contest
