American Whitewater commissioned Michael Crane and his consulting firm Crane Associates of Burlington, Vermont to conduct an Economic Impact Study on Gauley Festival. Gauley Festival has been held since 1983 and tens of thousands of whitewater boaters have attended at least once. The Gauley Festival is American Whitewater's largest fund raiser.
