2008 AW Membership and Fundraising Drive

Help AW protect rivers here in the states and you could win a trip with Small World Adventures in Ecuador.

With generous support from Smith Sport Optics and Small World Adventures, American Whitewater is hosting a fundraising and membership drive ending on October 1, 2008. 

Anyone who joins or renews their AW membership or donates at least $10 to support our river stewardship efforts will be entered in a raffle to win a week long trip in Ecuador with Small World Adventures and monthly prizes from Smith Sport Optics.  Every $10 contribution gets you one chance to win!
 

Since 1954 American Whitewater has been the voice of concerned paddlers nationwide who want our wild rivers protected and restored for ecological and recreational benefits.  In recent years American Whitewater’s stewardship efforts have been focused on:

  - Protecting Rivers from new hydropower developments

  - Protecting our backcountry rivers from development and resource extraction

  - Removing outdated and unsafe dams, opening miles of new free flowing rivers

  - Cleaning up ancient mining laws and regulations that put resource extraction before environmental protection

  - Providing public access to the rivers we cherish

  - Ensuring that our rivers are managed properly by federal and state agencies

Grand Prize:  Week long trip with Small World Adventures in Ecuador

  - The winner will get one wonderful week of kayaking in paradise on your choice of Class II - V whitewater.

  - SWA offers a private riverside lodge on the Quijos River with hot showers, cold beers, home cooked gourmet meals and an on site massage therapist.

  - SWA has over 60 kayaks including the newest play boats, creek boats, and river runners.

  - SWA guides wrote the guidebook to kayaking in Ecuador, so you’ll be paddling with the experts!

  - The trip is valued at $1,595 and includes all expenses except airfare, beverages, and souvenirs.

  - For each $10 you donate, American Whitewater will enter one raffle ticket for you to win both the monthly prize and the grand prize.  ($100 donation = 10 chances to win)

  - Monthly winners will be announced on the AW website and contacted by email to claim prizes.

  - Memberships and donations must be received by October 1, 2008.

  - The grand prize trip in Ecuador will be announced on October 15, 2008.
