Existing since the mid 1970's, Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT) is the outdoor program serving Georgia Tech students, alumni and their friends. ORGT is an all volunteer organization run by students and alumni. ORGT offers beginner instruction and gear rental for whitewater kayaking, canoeing and rafting. Beginner classes are typically offered each semester for each sport, and are intended to take someone who has never paddled whitewater and get them confortable paddling III+ rapids. For those involved with the program, ORGT also offers gear rental (everything you need to get down a river, from the newest boats through paddles and PFD's) and a weekly roll school in the Olympic pool.
