Ran the river on Sunday, 9/27/09 when river was at a little under 4 feet at the gauge. The suggested route to go right of the island after Coppermine rapid has trees across the river on both channels to the right. You can get under the tree on the right channel if you are in a kayak and stay close to the bank river right. There is also an old dead tree in the lower part of Blasted Rock almost crossing the river you can get around on far river right. Canoes may have an issue at this higher water height getting under the tree after Coppermine but at that level you might go left of the island. At the 2 feet or lower level of the gauge you might be able to get under. Be aware, once you commit to right of the island you can not get back to change your route.
