Robert Farmer----I just want to add that there is an optional slot on the right about half-way through the Middle Fork that people often run. Once, when scouting this (which many people don't do), I saw a log jammed in this slot, but I saw it only after staring at it carefully for about 5 minutes; it was just barely visible---mostly it was totally submerged. I firmly believe that it would have been fatal for any boater or swimmer. Really, I'm surprised that no one has died here because people rarely scout this drop after having done it before. That attitude is dangerous and stupid! I haven't run that slot since I saw the log.
