We ran this last week (Dec 2008) when the Tellico was 5.5 ft. The level was low/med. We put in off of Cherohala Skyway and took out at the confluence with the tellico. The first 1.5 miles were flat water with strainers. The last 1.5 miles contain some nice rapids with a couple of classic boofs. There are a couple of V's in there and one waterfall that lands on rocks that we portaged. The downside is all the wood. We barely made it out before dark due to the portages (some were tough). This run is worth doing but not until we have a flood to scour the gorge. Portaging can be difficult because the micro gorge is so steep in the last 3/4 mile before the confluence with the Tellico. -Dooley
