Heavy rain last weekend seems to have cleared out most of the strainers. I can only recall one that
stretched across the river. It was a big log that hung in the trees about 2' above the water level,
so we were able to paddle under it without too many problems. However, it could be a problem at
high flows. I think it was about 2/3 of the way down the run. Edit
We paddled Boone at low water April 4, 2009 and along the entire length of Boone Creek we found
numerous bank to bank, downed trees and limb strainers due to the ice storms of this winter. Only
skilled whitewater paddlers with competent rolls should attempt to boat Boone Creek.
