This is really 2 separate sections. The first is 12 miles of flatwater, twisting through the marshlands of the Canaan Valley. The second, about 3 miles long, starts at the first rapids along the Camp 70 Road, contains some interesting rapids, and continues past Davis and up to the bridge 200 yards above Blackwater Falls, by which time it is class III-. In high water, be very wary approaching this bridge (the best take out is on upstream river right), because of the falls below.
