Also there is a river wide tree in the bend right before the waterfall. The best way to get around this tree I found was all the way to the right through a gap between the end of the tree that is about a boat length away from a rock. It is avoidable by driving towards the center once you are through the holes above the slide.  However, it will hold a person or boat, as we learned today, if you don't miss it.
