A rapid has disappeared from my reach

Hi,

I do the Green Narrows page, and just noticed I'm missing Toilet Bowl -- the rapid before Hammer Factor near the end of the list.

Am I screwed for good? Or is there a way to get back what was there?

I did this once before (destroyed a rapid by accident), and thought then that the "delete" button is pretty easy to hit instead of the "edit" button when accessing a rapid to edit it. Perhaps a "Are you sure you want to delete this?" box ought to come up. In this case, I have no idea what happened, as I haven't been messing with Toilet Bowl.

Also, is it always gonna be the case that when you hit a link in the rapids section and then try "back" you get sent to the main page?

Thanks!

John

John,

I don't know if Toilet Bowl is scrooed for good. When I can get back into the database (we're migrating lots of our stuff to a new server, and I can't get in these daze), I'll look into it.

Thanks Matt! I'll be gone for several days starting Saturday, and will check back next week sometime.

*sigh* the code for deleting rapids does it the old way (doesn't preserve the record). Let me see if I can get a db dump from a week ago and get it from there.

I noticed the same thing on my upper Chattooga reaches in Georgia. All the Ellicott Rock rapids are gone and most of the Rock Gorge and Chattooga Cliffs rapids have disappeared.

I'm going to put a confirmation on the delete immediately. I think the rapid descriptions might be gone. Check the internet archive to see if it might have been preserved there.

I only have two weeks of backup.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for putting a confirmation in there for deleting rapids.

What is the "internet archive"?

Thanks!

I went to the AW test site

[www2.americanwhitewater.org]

All my rapid descriptions were still here. I may have lucked out on the timing of this copy but its worth a look.

I restored 401 "deleted" rapids to the database. Can you check and see if some of the ones you noticed were among the ones restored? The restoration could cause some rapids to be listed twice if you happened to lift the descriptions from the old site.

Thanks John and Skip for alerting me to this problem. Please let me know if you notice any other inconsistencies.

Super. Thanks Ryan.

A friend told me yesterday that Zwick's was now gone altogether, and I hadn't touched the page in weeks, so I just checked and sure enough Zwick's is there and so is Toilet Bowl.

Appreciate the restorations!

John
