After more than a decade of review, FERC has issued a new 40 year hydropower license for the Snoqualmie Falls hydroelectric project. Unfortunately the new license will formally eliminate public access to the river in areas upstream of the Powerhouse that have been used by recreational boaters for many years. American Whitewater will continue to represent boater interests in this proceeding and has requested a rehearing.

Changes are in store for the Powerhouse run on the Snoqualmie River. The road to the put-in will be closed for two weeks this spring and then through the summer for installation of a new turbine. In addition a new trail may be constructed precluding access to areas upstream of the Powerhouse.
