Earlier today the President signed the Upper White Salmon Wild and Scenic Rivers Act into law adding an additional 20 miles of river into the Wild and Scenic Rivers system.

Help Acquire & Conserve White Salmon Riverfront (WA)

Please write to Senators Cantwell and Murray and ask for their support in acquiring riverfront properties along the White Salmon River downstream of Husum Falls. This reach is used as a training ground for novice paddlers and will be the start of a new run to the Columbia River with the removal of Condit Dam.

Condit Dam (White Salmon River WA) Removal Agreement

September 22, 1999 PacifiCorp signed an agreement to remove Condit Dam on the White Salmon River in Southwest Washington State. The culmination of two years of negotiations between state and federal agencies, American Whitewater, and 13 other environmental groups. The agreement calls for removal of the 125-foot-tall concrete dam that since 1913 has diverted water from the natural channel obstructing downstream navigation and blocking upstream fish passage.
