New Hydro Projects in the Pacific Northwest

A number of small hydro projects that
have been in the licensing process for
up to a decade have recently been
recommended for licensing by the
Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission. By the Commission's
own analysis the economic benefits
are questionable while the impacts to
recreation and natural resources are
significant. American Whitewater staff
and local volunteers are working to
make sure our interests are
represented in decisions regarding
these new projects.
