| Description: | Looking downstream from below Troublemaker Rapid near the American River Resort take out. The hazard rock is in the gap between the two largest boulders. The non fatal entrapment was at a similar flow. A rescuer was able to get into the eddy behind the rock, climb onto the rock and hold the victim high enough to breath. The fatal entrapment was at higher flows and rescuers were unable to get to the victim until flows dropped. It this flow it appears that throw ropes will reach across the river from the largest boulder on the right to the low rocks on river left. | |||
