Description: The easy part before Pillow Rock? Yes, we are in a raft, but a small (how about "tiny"!) one for 4 crew and a guide. And we paid extra for the smaller raft? Most people run with 6-10 person crews. Not for us, the small rafts are absolutely the only way to go! What fun. .....
We are first timers to the Gauley doing the Gauley Marathon on Gauley Fest Day 2004. Maybe it's a good thing at this time we really can't see what's ahead of us in Pillow Rapids - "Room of Doom", "Pillow Rock" and "Toilet Bowl".
