| Account | The view flying up the Talkeetna River. Although the current is swift the lower river meanders across the floodplain. It looks smaller from the air but you can get a good view of this major drop on the way up. Note the scouting trail on river right. The view of Prairie Creek that serves as a convenient access to the Talkeetna. Prairie Creek is a class II stream with potential for wood hazards and bear sitings. As an alternative to access down Prairie Creek paddlers can put in at one of the gravel strips further upstream on the Talkeetna. |
