Forest Service Raft

Report

Account Forest Service staff from the district office in Darrington periodically check out the river. Although more common in the first couple miles above Downey Creek, channel-spanning log jams can occur anywhere along the run. Use caution as they can come up quickly. You will need to be prepared for portages around log jams. In some years there may be none but in other years there have been several. John has served as a river ranger out of the Darrington district office for the past few seasons and can often be seen on the Wild and Scenic sections of the Skagit river system. Susan has served as a river ranger out of the Darrington district office for the past few seasons and can often be seen on the Wild and Scenic sections of the Skagit river system.
