River Description

Ed Evangelidi shared:

[This and Reach 1654 are essentially the same run.] The Q is a nice but short run that starts slow and lets you warm up. Once in the rapids section you have pools between the rapids but the run is fairly continuous & has a number of solid Cl 2 rapids packed into a few miles. The steepness of the valley hides most of the ugly mining scenery nearby and the highway crossing is way overhead and not much of a bother either. Stop in at the historical park at the put-in & just before the takeout look around for nesting geese if you are there in spring.

If you wait for this run to get up in the trees, this run get completely continuous. More fun than
Savage River. Nothing too technical just be able to pick lines on the fly and setup for the inside
when the river bends. Don't blink though cause if you paddle thru, it only takes about 40 minutes. Edit
