FUN FACT: Fun river when there's water to fill in the boulder gardens.
SEASON: Winter rain storms. Generally best when rivers are moderately high.
ACCESS: From Highway 101 mile 216.4 turn south on FR 2918. Follow this road to mile 3.0 and the bridge across the Soleduck. This is the put-in or use an access downstream closer to Highway 101. The take-out is at Klahowya Campground (use the downstream of the two bridges). The campground is located at Highway 101 mile 211.9 on the north side of the road or continue a short distance downstream to the access on the south side of Highway 101.
DESCRIPTION:
Several boulder gardens. The most challenging rapid, "Bridge Drop", can be viewed from the Highway 101 bridge at mile 212.6 just upstream from the take-out.

There is an old USGS gauging station (stn. 12041500, 1917-1980) with an intact staff gauge just upstream from the put-in. It's a bit out of the way for this run because you have to drive back out to Highway 101 to access it on river right (check the Upper Soleduck description for directions on finding it). Look for flows around 3.0 feet or higher. For those trying to assess the run from a remote location check the Hoh River gauge (look for it to be up around 4000). You'll get several good visual looks at the run along the shuttle route.
