River Description
This is a nice class II-III+ run with a fairly constant gradient. The bigger rapids are all
scoutable from the road on your drive up to the putin. While scouting look for strainers. As of
June 6, 2004 there was one tree across most of the river about 1/2 mile below Double Drop (the
biggest rapid on this reach). The tree fell from river left. At higher levels, you can get around
the right side of the tree. This route is very shallow and it might be easier to limbo under the
tree at lower levels. Also watch out for logs broached on large rocks.
Putin: The bridge about 1/2 mile above Beech Lick Run - or further upstream if you so
desire.
Takeout: The bridge in front of the Richwood School (behind the plaza in town).
