that more water would be better. We attempted the Shaver's Road put-in, but the gate at the mine
was locked and I don't think I've ever seen more 'no trespassing signs' in one location in my life.
We put on at the New Harmony Road bridge and paddled a lot of flatwater with several log jam
portages.
The run slowly progresses from Class 0 to Class I to Class II and finally reaches many Class III
low angle slides that would probably be fun with more water. Things start picking up to Class IV
and a major landslide on RR will indicate that you're getting much closer to the meat of the gorge.
Fuzzy Bunny can definitely sneak up on you - if we hadn't have been out of our boats to portage a
tree, we may have drifted into it. Scout everything you can't see after you pass the landslide.
There's a very fun looking two stage drop just below the bunny that reminded me of a miniature
'Double Trouble' on Colorado's Big South (http://www.americanwhitewater.org/rivers/id/365/). But
there was a large log at the bottom with all of the water pushing into it. Had to walk. Only a
chainsaw or an extreme act of god will move this log of about 3 feet in diameter. After a few more
class IV's the creek lightens up and then you're at the car. Had fun and would love to do it again
with more water. Hair boaters would probably be bored on this run. The water dropped from 2 feet to
1.5 feet in the six hours we were on the creek.
Roaring:
Some fun play waves when high, but Fuzzy Bunny is very dangerous. Miss the scout and you're
done.
left side of the island splitting the flow for two cool ledges.
