The Upper Vermilion is a nice pastoral stream above the Middle section that the Keel Haulers Canoe Club runs their Annual Down River Race held the last Sunday in March.
If the Vermilion gauge is not working, you can use the Huron River Gauge as an indicator since it is in the same watershed.
