River Description

This stretch coincides with Stafford/McCutchen "Whitewater of the Southern Rockies" Pg. 342 - Upper Blue

The blue River is not the ultimate high end of this river you can certainly go further upstream. The stream is an overall gravelly filled class II fly fishing stream. The small section from the campground down to the FR 2400 pull off has a small gorge. This is perhaps the best piece of whitewater on the run. When Boulder Creek flows in on the left you are near the best rapids. Dont waste them by paddling downstream at warp speed.
