Gauge Description:
The referenced gage is on the Chattooga; therefore, it should only be used as a rough guide of whether or not Warwoman might be running. Rain northeast of Clayton may cause Warwoman to run at lower levels. Rain near Highlands may bring up the Chattooga without increasing Warwoman's level. A good level for Warwoman is if the Chattooga is at least 2.5 to 3.0 feet. The maximum recommended flow is listed at 5.0 feet, what many consider to be flood stage on the Chattooga. This is by no means a true maximum, as the Chattooga is frequently run above this level. At high water on the Chattooga, an alternate take-out at Warwoman Ford (river mile 2.8) on Earl's Ford Road could be used. Gauge Information
