Old browser warning

Site look funky?  Your browser is either Internet Explorer (hit refresh (F5) several times due to a bug in Microsoft's code that we can't work around) or is 10 years old and standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.   Consider updating.  One excellent option is Mozilla Firefox, versions of which are available for Linux, Mac and Windows. Safari 1.0+ and IE 6.0+ are also supported.

Gauge Information

Gauge Description:

The wave is playable at flows lower than 1500, but its pretty bland and unexciting. Conversely, you can play when its above 7000, but the wave begins to wash out and turn into a mess of unstructured churning terror. Ideal is between 3500 cfs and 6000 cfs.

Dam release information can be found here: LCRA Release Info

Additionally, the local authorities will likely put a boat ban into effect if and when the flow goes much higher than 7000 cfs. (Many times, they'll ban boat traffic way before.) When this happens, it is not recommended that you try your luck against the ban. The fines are significant and Austin Fire Department, Police Department or other rescue personnel may just impound your boat to prove a point!
