IF your running Fishing creek from above Mackeyville Pa. There is a nasty strainer by the Kawanis Camp. I suggest getting out at the bridge and portage this strainer. It's nasty two BIG trees intertwined across the creek. There is LOTS of dibris in this strainer.I believe it to be a killer at high water. There is a picture of it in the photo library titled "Mackeyville Strainer"

What an adventure! My brother-in-law and I are new to kayaking so since we live near fishing creek we decided to try it. We put in near the Axe Factory Dam. There were some really good class 2 and 3's there. We had a good ride lots of rapids until it got out of hand right past the Country Club bridge. There was a low lying tree. So if you attempt this be carful! I ended up rolling my kayak. I tried getting it to shore but could not because my arm got pinched under a tree and the kayak. My brother-in-law chased my kayak to the Bald Eagle and almost had it out of the water when it broke loose again. He finally got it out of the water at the Flemington bridge. I walked from Country Club through a long field to the Flemington bridge when I finaly seen him. Thank god he was okay because I was worried for him.
