SEASON: November to May.
ACCESS: At Hwy 101 mile 112.6 (approximately 4 miles north of the bridge across the Humptulips) look for the sign to Wynoochee Lake Recreation Area, and take Donkey Creek Road (FR 22) east off Highway 101 for 9.7 miles to two roads (about 100 yards apart) that turn off to the right. The second of these two roads heads through a maze of logging roads through commercial forest land to a take-out near the mouth of Rock Creek (bring your high clearance rig and prepare for an adventure--i.e. I couldn't figure it out so post a comment if you do). To reach the put-in, return to FR 22 and continue east to mile 13.0 where the road crosses the East Fork Humptulips. You can put-in on the upstream river left side of the bridge (the scramble down is not as bad as it looks from the bridge if you go through the woods about 50 yards before starting your descent down to the river). Easier access can be found at FR 22 mile 12.6 where the river comes right up alongside the road, although you miss a couple rapids.
DESCRIPTION:
Small rapids and a short gorge. Be aware of the undercut slot at the "Falls" which you may need to portage.
