Otter Creek, KY

Disclaimer

Bill Eades Rd. (W.Fork / Main Stem) to KY388 (Red House Rd) (6 miles)

Class II(III)
6 Miles

River Description

The West Fork/ Main Stem of the Otter is a very playful stream littered with great surfing spots throughout it's entire length. With easy, wide open class II rapids and the occasional class III hydraulic (at normal water levels) the West Fork/Main Stem provides quality whitewater with few difficulties for the novice or the skilled paddler.

It's a short distance from the putin on Bill Eades Road to the confluence with the Middle (Main) fork of the Otter where the water volume doubles. There are several alternate takeouts along its run to the Kentucky river including the 3377 (Lost Fork Road) bridge, the confluence of the East Fork (where KY388 or Red House Road bridge crosses its river right East Fork tributary), Sam Jones Road, and the KY388 bridge close to Boonesboro State.
