River Description

This makes an interesting 'chaser' run for other runs in the area, or 'quick hit' for when one has little time and wants the adrenaline rush from getting some 'vertical' action. If you are fortunate to catch it with enough water, I doubt you will be disappointed.

At appropriate levels for the whole run, the river at the put-in is likely to look quite high and fast, and (in places) seem a bit narrow and brushy for the promised action. A few minor rapids precede the main event. The river breaks free of the brushy banks as it hits a sheet of bedrock, and proceeds to slide down considerable grade for close to a half mile.

Near the base of this slide, another small stream ("Miller Creek," one of a couple so named creeks on the north shore) cascades down a similar slide. If it has sufficient water, you may be inclined to carry back up to give it a ride.

A brief distance downstream, one further river-wide dike of bedrock causes the river to spill another 10' (more or less). Most of it lands rather rocky and shallow, though it appears a good launch and landing exists fairly well to river right.

Minor rapids lead to the take out at the Hwy.61 bridge.
