River Description

Clear Creek is high quality non-threatening Class V creeking. The rapids are very continuous but generally not too technical. The 1st and 2nd gorges are where the best whitewater is, the gorges are fairly deep and narrow with mostly vertical walls in the meat of the rapids. There is definite potential for wood getting wedged in there due to the narrowness as well as lots of big avalanche paths crossing the creek just upstream of the put-in. In short, unless you know for sure scout for wood before putting on.
