River Description

The West Branch of the Little River runs off from Mt.Mansfield along Rt 108 in Stowe. From the put in the river drops quickly for the first 200 yds. It is boulder strewn and has lots of holes. Be on the look out for wood. It runs through many back yards, so please respect their privacy. After passing under the second rec path bridge the take out is on the left.

Directions:

From Stowe village take Rt 108 4 miles. A recreation path parking lot will be on the left (big field across the road). For the put in continue up Rt108. Look for the Matterhorn resturaunt on the left. You can park in their lot or take the road to the right across from the Matterhorn and put in at Fosters falls.
