River Description
One of the most popular "float" trips in the US. Flowing throught the spectacular undulations of
the Goosenecks the San Juan provides wonderful "mini Grand Canyon" multiday paddling trip. Mostly
composed of class II rapids there is one class III "Government" that may be interesting for large
rafts at flows below 1000cfs. Permits from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) are required to
launch. All camping beyond mile 65.8 now requires reservations and failure to reserve a campsite
may result in up to a $500 fine!
