River Description

America's North Coast
The Euclid Beach Band had it wrong.

Lake Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes; so, when the Gales of November (or eleven other select months) remember, there can be some great surfing at the Coast. When the weather's right for it, the beach will be populated by paddlers, board surfers, and the occasional windsurfer. Great fun!

Directions:

From the South: Take I-77 North toward Cleveland. Where I-77 ends, get onto I-90 East. Within a couple of miles, you'll see signs for Rte. 2 West. Take that exit. Drive on Rte. 2 West, past the R&R Hall of Fame, past Jacobs Field. Stay on Rte. 2 West. Soon, there'll be an exit for Edgewater State Park. Take that exit, park, and head for the beach!

From the East: Take I-90 West, and grab the exit for Rte. 2 West. Proceed as above.

From the West: Take Rte. 2 East. There'll be an exit for Edgewater State Park. If you reach Ashtabula, you've gone too far.

From the North: Keep paddling South. Stop when you find the beach.

Gauge Description:

Check Intellicast.com for predicted wave heights. 3 feet is probably the beginning of good clean fun; 8 feet or so is probably getting perty spanky.
