River Description

Chris Cambron notes:
"This run is less than 15 minutes east of Glenwood Springs, CO on Interstate 70. You can see the run from the road (if you're looking for it) - but there's a walking path all along river right from where you can scout everything if you get off at the Shoshone exit and head upstream. The section above Shoshone exit 123 is a kayakers run - the rafts tend to stay on the run just below that. I mainly stick to the rafts so I really couldn't tell you much about it other than it has some big scary holes that I would never take a raft into. At high water (anything over 4-5000 cfs), it is downright terrifying."

Gauge

Gauge Description:

The tunnel pulls out approximately 1000 cfs.  So at 1300 cfs you will have about 300 cfs in the river--clearly enough to boat, but not great 'til it hits 1500 to 1800 cfs.
