River Description

The Chauga is a gentle valley stream in this upper section. Most of the river consists of small interspersed drops with long flowing sections between the rapids. The creek is rather small but is runnable several times during a normal water year. Most of this creek is easy class II with the occasional Class III. A single Class IV rapid is the most difficult part of the run.
